Pumpkins. Corn mazes. Leaves. College Football. Sweaters. When Tjmaxx gets in hoards of pumpkin and apple scented candles and you go crazy because they're all super cheap and you walk out with armfuls of candles.
Yeah, I'm talking about fall.
Recently fall has become a passion of basic females everywhere and I am not ashamed to say that I am one. I embrace it actually. Fall is a magical time of year where the temperature drops to the perfect degree and suddenly a whole new genre of outdoor activities appear. Other than being insanely Instagramable, fall is a time where nature swaps out its summer color palette for oranges and golds and encourages people to get outside!

East Coast autumns are a force to be reckoned with. The deciduous forests of the Appalachian Mountains trade in their green attire for a more flaming ensemble. I was nervous to experience my first fall in Denver; afraid that the sprawling evergreen forests would ruin the image of autumn that I grew up with.
However, I was pleasantly surprised. One thing that Colorado has that Pennsylvania doesn't is the Aspen tree. Every autumn the Aspens change from green to gold. Patches of Aspen trees are dispersed throughout the Rockies and splash the mountain sides with gold. Each group of Aspens are connected by one root system, making it just one single tree. So instead of the multitude of colors, Colorado wears just one and that is honestly enough.

Thankfully the autumn activities here do not differ from the ones I would partake in every year at home. Yes my Instagram was quite happy with the pictures posted this year and I am looking forward to another fall in the Rocky Mountains.
