2376 Fifteenth Street

One of my favorite things about Denver is its history. The Wild West can still be felt throughout the city and the old architecture in LoDo and LoHi is reminiscent of saloons, bar fights and cowboys.

My Brother's Bar is the oldest still-operating bar in Denver and as soon as you walk through the front door, you can believe it. There is nothing fancy about My Brother's. It's dark and styled with original wood and brick. The bar greets you while there are two adjacent rooms for dining. A garden area with outdoor seating is open during the warmer months and is the perfect place to grab a drink -- for cheap.

You won't find TVs, computers, wifi or even digital cash registers. My Brother's rings up their customers food and drinks on a 1900s cash register. Pints of beer have been poured and served at the bar since the early 1870s when Denver was a small mining town. My Brother's hosts an eclectic group of people and you will find all walks of life sitting at the bar. That is just one of the many things that make this bar special.

But good beer and fine spirits isn't all that My Brother's whips up until 1am. My Brother's has an extensive food menu with ridiculously reasonable prices. The "Ragin Tuna" sandwich, which features an Ahi tuna steak, won't break the bank at $6.75 but will definitely satisfy your hunger and leave you wondering why you ever paid $13 for the same sandwich at the restaurant down the street.

However, My Brother's is even more famous for their JCB. What does JCB stand for, you ask? Jalapeño Cream Cheese Burger. Yes, you read that right. My Brother's puts a signature jalapeño cream cheese on their burgers that will make your taste buds worship you. The burger comes as a single patty burger for $6.75 or you can make it a double if you're feeling frisky for $10.50. Throw in a heaping side of onion rings cause they're only $1.75. The burger melts in your mouth and the cream cheese has just the right amount of kick. A personal condiment box is brought table side with your meal that includes fresh onions, pickles, banana peppers and relish.

This place is so good that they don't even need advertising, and they know that. The bar is famous for not having a sign on its building, so keep your eye out for the address. My Brother's Bar is located at 2376 15th Street.
